Meghan Markle Was Never Cut Out For Royal Life

Meghan Markle was never emotionally or mentally qualified to serve the monarchy, and she didn’t want people to know she couldn’t handle being a royal so she blamed it on racism.

I never believed Meghan Markle when she accused the royal family of being racist. She told Oprah that someone in the royal family commented on her child’s skin color in a derogatory manner. Yes, I believe someone was curious about what red-head Prince Harry and biracial Meghan Markle’s future children might look like.  I wondered myself, and surely Meghan and Harry wondered too.  It’s completely normal to wonder.

The comment wasn’t malicious or racist nor was it to determine whether or not their children would be granted royal privileges as Meghan insinuated.  There was a problem with that story the moment it came out of Meghan’s mouth.

When Harry told the story he had a slightly different spin. Meghan made it sound as though it was a direct comment about her first child. Harry said it happened early in their dating relationship, long before the marriage. The more they spoke, the more they turned that story into something it wasn’t.

Royal Life Isn’t Easy

The life of an active royal isn’t easy.  It might look like all glitz and glamour because of the pretty dresses, tiaras, and royal titles. But it’s a life of sacrifice and service, not one of celebrity. Their lives are really not their own. The King and Queen take an oath to serve their country, and active members of the family take an oath to serve the King or Queen. They must follow a plethora of protocols. They live under a spotlight. Their lives are controlled by the monarchy, but they serve it willingly. Living the royal life is a calling; it’s not for everyone, even if born into it.

Long before the Oprah interview, I read that as Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan would have to curtsy to Kate Middleton. That’s when I knew a firestorm was about to come.

There’s no way Meghan Markle would bow down (i.e. curtsy) to Kate Middleton.  The Queen, yes, she could somewhat handle that because the Queen was older and had been Queen for decades.  But Kate Middleton?  They’re the same age.  Both beautiful.  There was no way Meghan was going to play second fiddle to Kate. It was never going to happen. Meghan Markle doesn’t have the humility for that.

The monarchy is a hierarchical system. Except for the King or Queen, everyone bows and curtsies to someone. It’s just the way it is. It wasn’t like Meghan was Cinderella and the royal family the wicked stepsisters, making her bow down to them in an evil way. But this is how Meghan saw it.

Sure enough, the firestorm came. Little by little there were reports of grumbles by Harry and Meghan.  They announced they were leaving their royal duties.  Then came the big Oprah interview.

The one question I would have asked Meghan Markle: “If your husband were higher up in line to become King would you have remained in England serving the monarchy?”

Meghan and Harry Want To Be William and Kate

As much as Meghan and Harry seem to despise the monarchical system, I believe they would still be active royals if they were in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s positions.  William and Kate who are higher in rank than Harry and Meghan, are expected to one day be King and Queen.

Prince Harry is now 5th in line (but was 6th when they left their royal duties) in succession to the throne and is not expected to ever be king.  Not that it can’t happen.  Queen Victoria was fifth in line and became Queen. Perhaps that’s the reason Harry doesn’t want to relinquish his title…just in case.

It’s Time To Grow Up

The racist accusation was created to divert the truth–that Meghan was in over her head.  Serving the monarchy wasn’t for her. She didn’t like following the monarchy’s rules. She didn’t like playing second fiddle to Kate, and she didn’t like that her husband was the “spare.” But this was now her life.

Meghan likely experienced major anxiety and insecurity issues over the whole thing because she couldn’t cope. And she didn’t want to be embarrassed that she couldn’t cope–after all, she had a $45 million dollar wedding with the world watching and accepting her as the adored new royal. It makes sense that she was overwhelmed and had suicidal thoughts, as she told Oprah. But feeling like you want to be dead because you’re in over your head is not the same as being suicidal.

Instead of owning the truth about herself, she blamed it on the royal family. It’s their fault. They’re racist. Kate made me cry. It’s all their fault.

Because Harry is equally as immature and emotionally unhealthy as Meghan (and I don’t say that with any ill will, just realistically speaking), he couldn’t see or accept the truth either–that his wife wasn’t called to serve the monarchy. So, he joined her in the blame game.

That’s what happens when you don’t take the time to grow emotionally–you blame others for everything.

Have you ever seen a child play a board game and get upset when they’re losing?   They decide angrily, I’m not playing! Then they mess up the whole board because if I can’t win no one else will. That’s Meghan and Harry.

Meghan Markle and Harry Have No Grace and Dignity

After allowing the racism lie to go on for two years, and after accepting an award for fighting racism in the royal family, Harry recently announced in an interview that he nor Meghan ever accused the royals of being racist. Huh?

Harry is unable to accept responsibility. This was a perfect time to apologize for misleading (lying to) the public. I wonder, by the way, did Oprah give Meghan and Harry a stern talking to like she did author James Frey for making her feel bamboozled? Because, yes, Oprah was bamboozled by Meghan and Harry.

Meghan wasn’t able to respect the monarchy, and at the same time understand that she and her husband could exit the monarchy with dignity and grace. They needed to trash the entire system in an attempt to elevate themselves. How sad.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can learn some things from Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

Jacinda Ardern just announced her unexpected resignation as Prime Minister of New Zealand. She didn’t trash the position or her colleagues even though some say she’s resigning because she was mistreated. You can always find fault, but Jacinda simply recognized that the position was no longer for her.

“I’m leaving, because with such a privileged role comes responsibility – the responsibility to know when you are the right person to lead and also when you are not…It’s that simple,”
Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand Prime Minister

That’s how it’s done, Harry and Meghan. You walk away with grace and dignity without trying to destroy the entire board game.
