When their Spotify deal ended, Spotify executive and podcaster, Bill Simmons called Prince Harry and Meghan Markle grifters.
What’s a grifter? It’s someone who swindles people out of money through fraud.
Remember when Piers Morgan nearly got fired for calling Meghan a liar? The only reason he didn’t get fired is because he quit. And Sharon Osbourne got fired from The Talk for supporting her friend Piers. Well, the tide has changed because no one reprimanded Bill Simmons when he called Meghan and Harry grifters.
That’s because people finally see it.
Maybe it was the Prince Harry and Meghan South Park episode that opened everyone’s eyes. Perhaps it was the exaggerated “nearly catastrophic car chase” in New York City that no one believed. Or maybe it’s simply their never ending woe-is-me attitudes.
Meghan and Harry had a $20 million dollar Spotify podcast deal. Meghan only did one season (12 episodes). Harry did none. Bill Simmons was ticked because they expected millions for such little content. But honestly, it didn’t take the Spotify issue to see that Meghan and Harry have a grifting mentality.
What Meghan and Harry did to the royal family has grifting written all over it. Actually, I prefer to say they have a sense of entitlement. But entitlement and grifting go hand in hand. It’s all about wanting something for nothing.
Meghan and Harry launched a barrage of attacks and accusations on the royal family through the Oprah interview, the Netflix Harry and Meghan documentary and Harry’s book Spare. They accused the RF of racism to gain sympathy and support from the U.S. where they decided to live after leaving the UK. It was a cunning move knowing how divided the U.S. is when it comes to race.
They branded the royal family as victimizers and themselves as victims. Meghan and Harry claim they despise everything about the monarchy, but–and here’s the grifting part–when they left the monarchy, they didn’t give up their royal titles. They even demanded royal titles for their children. That’s because they want all the benefits of being a royal but not the obligations that come with it.
They want to be treated like royalty but don’t dare demand anything from them. They want something for nothing. That’s what a grifter does. They want all the benefits but not the work. So, it’s not surprising they expected millions from Spotify while only giving a one season podcast in two and a half years.
Calling Prince Harry and Meghan grifters seems harsh but the evidence is there. They have an entitled grifting mentality.
